What it is
One mould, one guard, built for you.
A shop-bought guard is a boil-in-the-bag approximation of your mouth. A custom guard is made from a scan of your actual teeth, so it stays put without being clenched in place. We make them for contact sport and for night grinding, which are different shapes for different jobs.
What to expect
From impression to pickup.
- 1
A scan of both arches — a couple of minutes, no putty.
- 2
A short conversation about what it's for: impact protection or wear protection.
- 3
Colour choice, if it's for sport. People take this seriously.
- 4
A fitting appointment about a week later to check the seal and trim any edges.
Questions
Asked about this one, most often.
How do I know if I grind?+
Flattened tips, a tight jaw in the morning, or a partner who has mentioned the noise. We can also see the wear pattern on the scan.
Will I actually sleep with it in?+
Most people take a week to stop noticing it. If you hate it after a month, tell us — thickness and coverage can both be changed.
How long does one last?+
Two to three years for a night guard, or a season or two of hard sport.
